The collection, produced by established and emerging Newfoundland artists, is truly inspirational. The Gallery has been well recognized over the past three years, and a highlight occurred in April 2007 when owner and operator, Laura Coultas, was honoured with the 2007 Youth Entrepreneur of the Award presented by the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Woman Entrepreneurs. This was indeed quite an achievement for the Five Island Art Gallery, which can be found in the heart of scenic Tors Cove, part of the Irish Loop drive on the Southern Shore. The Gallery is located on Cove Road in an old two-room schoolhouse. This unique building serves as a perfect venue for different styles of original art work that will appeal to a wide audience and it includes oil and acrylic paintings, watercolours, sculptures, photographs and pottery. The Gallery also features hooked rugs, an art form handed down by our parents and grandparents and created out of necessity in past generations. Drop in for a visit at the Five Island Art Gallery to enjoy the wonderful artwork and spectacular ocean view.
